Questions about the group generator
Are the groups evenly sized?
Yes. Every name is used once, and group sizes differ by no more than one person when the list cannot divide evenly.
Can I make pairs or groups of 3 or 4?
Yes. Choose People in each group, then select 2 for pairs, 3 for groups of three, or 4 for groups of four.
Are names uploaded or shared?
No. Names, absent choices, keep-apart rules, and group settings are processed and saved only in this browser on this device. On a shared device, choose Clear list when you finish.
Can I leave someone out without deleting them?
Yes. Mark a person absent beside their name. They stay on the saved list but are left out of the next set of groups.
Can I keep two people in different groups?
Yes. Open More options and add one or more keep-apart pairs. If the rules cannot all fit, the tool will ask you to add more groups or remove a rule.
Does random mean every team will have the same strengths?
No. The tool randomizes names and evens out headcount. It does not balance ability, accessibility needs, or personal conflicts, so review the result before using it.
